Grogan lands a gamble with Katla
That was her Derby and we'll put a for sale sign on her now. I had a winner before, Be Dignified at Ballinrobe in 2004 and my other horse at the moment, a first-timer runs at Naas tomorrow. Katla is the first foal of the mare (Bratislava) so it is great. We covered her up in the Curragh the last day and I'd suppose if we'd made more use of her we could have won. It's easy say that now though as it is hard for a small fellow to go to the Curragh and be confident.
Galway to Cork all in a weekend for Grant
He got a bit jarred in Navan (firm) and the ground here was beautiful, which was a help. He could prove to be very smart and Danny said he was still a bit green in front there.
Patrickswell gains a 5th win for the Callaghans
Big flat success for Gigginstown with Hen Night
She had a break since the spring time but she is progressive and seems to go on any ground. I'll have to discuss it with the owners but I wouldn't mind taking her to America and I have a couple of targets in mind out there. I'd be hoping to have a busy autumn with my team after having a quite enough time.
Grant on the Mark with Cork double
I felt she had a good chance today and I feel now that she'll get a mile and six. She only cost around 12 grand as a yearling and she has been an unreal servant as she's had well over forty runs at this stage. We'll play it by ear with her now and we'll continue to aim her at these type of races. Between herself and Bahrain Storm . they're keeping me in business.
Kokoro gets there with the blinkers
always had the ability and the blinkers have been a help.
Weld makes it 12 for the week
The boss was planning to come but he went to Galway at the eleventh hour. That's twelve winners for the week now so it's been a good week all round. This horse hit the crossbar a couple of times and he deserved that. The only instruction to Pat was to go out and win as the owners (the Coughlans) were here. There is no plan now and the ease in the ground was a huge help.
