Russell does "turn up" and rides a winner too
I'm delighted to have a winner for such a decent family (owners, the Gleesons), they have always been great supporters of me and of Tramore. It's a thrill to be able to give Davy his first winner after yesterday. I doubted that he would turn up today because he was dragged here and there and everywhere! . He gave Tiger Roll a great ride. As did Derek (O'Connor) on Balnaslow. I thought his approach to the Canal Turn was brilliant. It's lovely to witness sport like this.
Elliott and Russell not resting on their National laurels
River keeps Tramore successes flowing
She is a course specialist (fourth win). I thought she mightn't be fit enough first time out, but she just stayed at it, and I'm delighted,. We'll keep her going over the summer now, ground doesn't seem to matter to her. We'll probably try her over fences later on in the summer. If there is a race for her here, we'll be here.
Improving High Nellie has Bowe excited
Cracking pleases Dullea as he gets back to number 1
I'm delighted to be talking to yee (the press) again. We haven't had a winner since the autumn. It's great to get it,. We knew coming here that he'd handle the track, and that he'd handle the ground. We hadn't run him for a while, but we were happy enough that we had him ready. Philip gave him a great ride, he jumped well bar the last, just to give us a little fright which he likes to do! . We might have a look at something in Punchestown, he ran in a Grade B there last year and he might go back for that depending on the ground. It has been a long winter with this weather and not having a winner. We ran three in Mallow Easter weekend and two of them pulled up, while the other was well-beaten. The whispers were out that my horses were wrong but they just couldn't handle the ground.
Semi-retired Joxer wins 1st race in over 6 years
Mare with a future Agusta starts off on right note
I'm delighted with that, she is a lovely mare. I bought her at the Derby Sales. She is from the family of Farmer Jack and I like her a lot. She is going to be a real chasing mare, she is a smasher at home. She was bit unlucky with racing called off the few days she was in. She gets the bonus for winning that and she is owned by a great bunch of lads and they are delighted. Patrick gave her a lovely ride and I think she is a very good mare.
