Front-runner Point not for passing
He ran in the Curragh a couple of weeks ago but the straight course there doesn't suit him,. He seems to like running around a bend and was third in a Listed race at Dundalk. The plan was to go forward here from his inside draw and Shane knocked a good tune out of him. He has a lot of ability and Shane seems to be able to get him to go forward. He's got a touch of class, we thought he was a step above these and we had him ready today. It worked out well. That was the plan and I'm not quite sure what is there for him now. What we're learning about him is that he is track dependent and he won't go back to the likes of the Curragh. He seems to like racing around a bend where he can get out in front and keep galloping forward. He has his own style of running but it works for him.

Twomey's plan pays off with Pearls Galore
She's a very well-bred filly and this race has been the plan all year as I wanted to make her a group winner,. I have her in the Matron (Stakes, Leopardstown) and I'd say that will probably be the plan. Good ground or better is essential for her and she won't show up otherwise. I made that mistake last year and even running on the all-weather her foot goes in too far, she just likes to ping off the top of it. Barring the day I ran her on the all-weather, she's never put a foot wrong. There's not a lot of her there, she's not very big. I'd say it's unlikely she would run again before the Matron.

I'm 18-year-old and from Laois, I've just done the leaving cert. I'm in Pat's every morning and come in to ride this mare. It’s a special win for Julie on just her third spin. She is with me for three years and took her licence out in January. She has been riding this filly for a few weeks now and seems to have got a nice tune out of her. Julie used to do a bit of pony racing.
