Future Proof gains deserved hurdle win
At last! He'll run in handicaps somewhere now and will go back on the Flat at some stage. I can't believe it took him so long to win one. We had it in our minds to hold him up today and come late but he ended in front before we planned.
Townend makes it 100 for the season on Energumene
That was Paul's 100th winner of the year so that's good. It was the minimum of effort for him and he jumped fantastic when he was going at racing speed. He showed that he was able to put quick ones in when he was going slower and then when he quickened up he jumped really well. We'll hopefully get another two runs into him between now and Punchestown where he'll go for the novice hurdle. He could easily go out in trip. He's a horse, I hope, for novice chasing next year.
Lady McCabe provides Fitzgerald with welcome success
She's a very consistent mare and hopefully if the handicapper gives her a chance she might pick up another one. She'll probably stay a bit further as well. I'm delighted to get the win out of her as she's a well bred mare. She's by Yeats out of a half-sister to Binocular. It's good for the page. Hopefully she'll pick up another small hurdle somewhere and mightn't do too bad over fences after.
Dempseys land Gowran feature with The Long Mile
That was great, I'm delighted. He just does enough and that was a step up today. He's a way better chaser than a hurdler anyway. He'll have no bother going up in trip and should get distance anyway. We'll see what Frank (Berry) says now and look for something similar to that. Hopefully he keeps progressing. I'd say he's a winter horse. He's a very laid back horse, he just goes around and does enough. When Luke got after him he pulled out a little bit more but still my heart was in my mouth a bit at the last when he met it wrong.
Discordantly gets his act together over fences
He deserved it. He fell last week and I took a chance running him back so quick but I just thought I'd get it out of the way as it was a good chance for him,. said Harrington. Robert said he can just be a little bit clumsy at times but he was very good there. He made him go pop, pop, pop today which was great. That should do his confidence good and we'll try and find a little winners of one now and then hopefully end up in Punchestown.
Curling's prolific pointer remains unbeaten in Tetratema
It was a lovely performance and he's a very nice horse. He got hurt as a four-year-old and we gave him plenty of time. I'd say that could nearly be it for the year or he might go to Punchestown. We'll aim him for Cheltenham next year so we might avoid that as he doesn't take much racing. It's great for the owners who have been with me a long time. The first two are two good horses, young horses. They brought the form to the table.
Bob Olinger a name to remember after impressive victory
We hoped he was a nice horse and he had been working nicely. Obviously the favourite looked very nice as well. I'm delighted with our fella and he's an exciting horse. He had been working nice but he had to go against my bumper stats as well which is no mean feat!. I'm delighted for Robcour and the Achesons. It's great for Patrick to win the race (named in honour of Dr Brendan Doyle) and I'm honoured to win it. He's entitled to go for a winners bumper. I don't know where or when, today was Plan A. You have Aintree and Punchestown and we'll discuss it with the owners and see what they want to do. I was concerned about the ground being a bit too soft. He has worked well on good ground and up the sand at the Curragh so better ground shouldn't be a problem.
