Murtagh & Kelly land Cork opener
Straightforward seasonal return for One Look at Cork
She did exactly what we were hoping she would do. We got her out, got her some exercise and education and it has gone to plan, so I’m very happy,. We had the plan in our head that we were coming (regardless of the heavy ground), she settled and quickened and it was pretty straightforward. I don’t think I’ve trained many 1-20 shots!. That was her first piece of work for the year, so we’ll sit down and make a plan. We have a couple of more fillies to run, so we will see where we go but she is in the Irish, English, French and German Guineas. If she runs in Newmarket (English 1000 Guineas), she would go straight there, but if she runs in Ireland, she might run again. She is a lovely-actioned filly, was ready to run today and I think she’ll progress plenty.
Cotter off the mark with Uncle Albert
I said before coming down that I'd have been gutted if this lad had been beaten so it is great to get off the mark for year. He worked very well during the week, is tough, genuine, loves the ground and had good form last year. He has improved and he can go through that ground. Declan said he caught him out as he fell asleep halfway through the race but said he went with him when he asked. He probably won too far but on that ground what can you do. We have had great luck with his sire Dragon Pulse and hopefully now there could be a nice pot in him. He would be ground dependent though so I'm the only one hoping it keeps raining!
Fourth success for Slatterys' Expert
She has a new owner and Mick (Walsh) is the farrier here at the racecourse. Mick has a few with us this year and this is our first winner together. She was unlucky a few times last year and it was a nice race and setup for her today. She goes on any ground and will get 1m2f on better ground but the testing ground made up the difference (over 7f) today. We had her in the Lincoln but she was out of the handicap so we said we'd come here instead. We'll give three weeks now after this first run and hopefully she will get into those better handicaps now.

Danny Power rides first winner on Stag Night
I'm full-time with Willie who works me hard but gives me loads of opportunities. I had my first ride for him at Dundalk a few weeks ago and it was a grand start. I'm 16, from Waterford and am with Willie since October. My father Ollie keeps a few horses and has a few for point to points. The horse has bad feet but is a grand honest horse and the young lad was good on him. I think it was vital to take 10lb off to give him a chance in that ground. The young lad works hard, he is a great horse for the apprentices to ride and they all get their chances.
Shandy wins finale for Stack & Heffernan
I thought she might have been an Ascot two-year-old this time last year but she had a bit of an issue so spent a long time out in the field. It was a rush to get her ready to run so she had no foundation going to the Curragh last October. Colin (Keane, then jockey ) liked her, said she was weak but it was just that everything was a rush getting her to run. This is Seamie's first winner for me, he comes in a couple of times a week and had ridden winners (three) for my father. He, Joey (Sheridan) and Andy (Slattery) will all ride for me this year.
