Levee springs surprise on debut
We've always thought a lot of that horse, and he gave the impression at home that he was at least a maiden horse. I'm delighted he's gone and proven it today, and has won impressively in the finish. He didn’t go into the stalls at Fairyhouse last year. It might have been a blessing in disguise as it was particularly quick that day and he's a burly horse. In an ideal world somebody would come in and buy him off that (Mulgrave) Partnership but we'll have to wait and see.
Seamstress another for in-form Bolger
I thought she had a chance but I'm not noted for sprinters!. Another furlong or two would be no problem to her. She was nearly last at one point and being able to win without being up on the pace and not running freely will help her to get a longer trip.

Weld & Hayes strike with Sherkali
It was a nice performance and Chris said he got a little bit tired about 100 yards down which I expected. Our horses are coming along nicely and a couple of weeks will help them even more. I said to Chris beforehand to coax him in to win as I think there is nice improvement in this horse and if he gets beaten today it will be for a lack of fitness. He gave him a nice ride. We'll try and get black type with him next time and I see him as a potential Stakes horse. He'll be a nice horse going a mile and a quarter. He ran a nice race first time out as a two-year-old at Leopardstown when he got into a bit of trouble in running and finished out well. He battled well there today.
Quick double for Weld & Hayes as Shelir scores on debut
He's a nice colt and has been working well at home. The false start just lit him up a bit more than I would have liked, and he was a little bit keener than Chris wanted in the early part of the race so he'll learn a lot from that. We'll bring him back a furlong for the Tetrarch (Curragh May 6th). He has a lot of pace.
Keane excels from the front on Bobby
He's not an easy horse at home and we train him solo. A lot of credit goes to our head man Martin Horan and Colin (Keane). They have both done an awful lot of work with this lad to settle him at home. He was fit but will improve for the run. Colin didn't realise he was that far in front. We'll stick to a mile and see what the handicapper does. He doesn't want it too quick but it's riding deeper out the back and more or less good ground in the straight.
Easy win for Cuban as Bolger doubles-up
He's a big horse and I would have expected him to improve.
