Loughran steers Arceus to win
Bryan (Cooper) hurt his shoulder at Ballinrobe and we're hoping he'll be back at Sligo on Wednesday - it's nice for Roger to get a winner though, he's a good lad. Captain Arceus was impressive . he was very brave in his bumper win as the ground was very bad that day. He is really honest, travels and jumps well and we'll look for a winners of one somewhere now.
Tasitiocht continues Mullins' golden run
Tasitiocht was very novicey the last day and we popped her three times at home since, including this morning. The much slower pace today, on the soft ground was a big help . it wasn't the plan to make the running but she was very keen and Patrick got a breather into her. She was jumping out to the right a bit which was a bit of a worry but at least she jumped much better today . she'll probably go for a mares novice hurdle.
Masterson scores Navan win
Shamrock wins for owner/breeder/trainer
I'm glad to get a win with him and he'll go over fences now.
Maiden pro win for Lavery
Our Victoria's jumping won today's race and she loved the ground and travelled away great. I was able to let her roll on a bit and at the fourth last, I knew I had plenty under me. Our Victoria stays further than that but the stiff track here suited her. The ground is also important; she was beaten after three fences the last day and goes on soft but not on heavy ground. There is a three miles handicap at Gowran next week but we'll see how she comes out of this first but the main aim is a mares' race at Clonmel, in which she fell last year when travelling well.
Tofino completes Hughes double
Tofino Bay was good for his first run over fences and has a little bit of class. On his hurdle form he should be good over three miles and his jumping was very accurate. We'll find a novice for him over a trip now.
