It's great to start off the New Year with a success. We ended last year with a winner as well - Ardglen here yesterday. We had to run him today with his penalty because he's no star. He would have struggled with what the handicapper gave him (8Ibs). I'll give Ephorus a bit of a break now and then he'll probably go chasing. Tom said it would have been his fault if he was beaten there as I'd told him to have him third or fourth. I want to take this opportunity to thank all my staff for their hard work during the spell of bad weather. They all came in every day and we had no excuses from any of them . they could have thrown in the towel, but they didn't.

We fancied her. I thought that with a circuit to go we were in trouble but she stayed on well. She needs three miles and she'll go over that distance next time. She needs a flat track too. She's owned by a couple of local lads to me (the Murnanes).

Barker impresses at Tramore

That was great. We just ran him to get his confidence back. We didn't expect him to win like that. He'll step back up in grade now and he has always been a classy horse but last season was a bit of a disaster. It's great for the owner, Eamonn Duignan, after Secant Star broke his pelvis yesterday. It's a nice change of fortune for him. Dad was saying on the phone that David (Casey) gets on very well with him (Barker) and he is a horse that can run over a variety of trips.

Dancing's bro Waltzing wins at Tramore

He's a nice horse and he jumps really well. He took to the fences and we hope there's another day in him now. We'll go for a winners race next.

Babe lands Tramore finale

She is a very good jumper but it got nervy after the last. She doesn't want to get to the front too soon. She has lots of experience but it was a great ride from Barry.
