Going - Yielding to soft, soft in places (sprint course yielding). Bright
Patrickswell does it again at Down Royal
We nearly weren't going to come because of the ground (yielding). We eventually decided to run as it was the first race and the ground would be fresh. Leigh gave him a great ride and he gets on well with him.
Gin Rummy all the way at Down Royal
We're delighted to get the ten grand bonus. We always thought a lot of him during the winter. He done that well and hopefully he'll improve for it. He was entitled to win like that on his runs to date and Keagan gave him a great ride. Potentially he could go for a winners race at Bellewstown, that's a sharp track but it'll be up to the boss.
O'Donoghue spot on Rhythm
He's a consistent horse and to be fair he has been running well all year. He needed his first couple of starts and really I'd love to get him to Chester. He was balloted out of there recently.
Anamoine & Harrington take the feature again
We were a bit worried about the ground but we thought he'd run well. It was his first time over this trip (a mile and five) and there must have been something amiss a couple of runs back at the Curragh where he lost his action when last in a Group 3. However he bounced back last time in a listed race (when a very close fourth) and after that we decided to come here even though it came around a bit quick. These Big Bad Bobs are so tough and that's only his sixth run and his second win now. He'll hardly have much chance in handicaps after this so I'm not sure where we'll go next. Down Royal has been a very lucky place for me with the likes of Macs Joy and Moscow Flyer winning here in the past.
Oxx & Curtis land another Ulster Oaks
That's the third year in a row we've won this (Shareen 2010, Miss Keller 2009).
In-form Bell gets gambled-on Cuba home
We weren't sure about the ground as most of her form was on good ground.
Sinndar's bro off the mark at Down Royal
He enjoyed that bit of moisture in the ground. He did that a bit better than expected and we'll see what sort of mark he gets now. I wasn't going to run as I thought he needed good ground. The ground isn't too bad here though and we might consider a conditions race for him now.
