No bother for Paddy after difficult 'prep'
We've not had much of a preparation with little niggly things, and then we had the snow and the rain. It was not the preparation that you would like,. Christmas will probably come too soon for him after this, although it will depend on how he comes out of it. We know we can take our time with him now and place him nicely. You would think he'll have to improve from that run. He was off a long time and we had him prepped for different runs and he didn't make it. He can go up in trip and a bigger track will suit him. He's won well there over two miles but going back on his previous runs you would wonder if he wants to go further than two and a half miles.
Moulin A Vent really turning in right direction
We think the world of this fella but jumping has been a real problem with him over hurdles and his first run (over fences at Down Royal) he didn't really fire. I don't know what happened him. He only made one mistake last week and today he was really good. He has an engine and he stays. He could climb high enough if he got his jumping together. Seeing as he's had two runs in a week, Christmas will probably come too soon. There is a three-mile Grade 3 (Woodlands Park 100) Novice Chase at Naas next month that he could go for next. A Genie In Abottle won this race last year and then finished second to Anibale Fly in that race at Naas.
Stormy Ireland annihilates opposition on Irish debut
That was a good performance. I don't know how much strength in depth there was to the race but you can't take anything away from her. She was very professional, jumped well and travelled. She's a small filly who handles that ground with fierce ease. We can stay dreaming!
Another smart one emerges from Borris House 'point'
Golden Jewel well up to task on handicap debut
We thought he'd need the run and I didn't think that he would handle the ground as well as he did. Chris said he loved the ground,. We ran him one day in Thurles on that sort of ground and the lad came in and said he hated it. I'm gobsmacked to see him winning - and how he won. It's nice when it happens and we'll get the turkey now anyway!
Progressive Dromore Lad wins another
He's an improving little horse, and Danny said he was still a bit green when he hit the front,. He's going the right way and that's three wins in his last four runs and beaten a head in the other. If they were all doing that you would be happy. There is a nice little race in him somewhere along the way so we might give him a bit of a break now. He's a good while on the go.
Mullins double as Colreevy makes good start on track
She's very good. We went very slow and she was a little keen because of it. She got to the front very easily and was then a bit green. I think she's definitely a black type mare, and whether she goes to Leopardstown or Aintree or Punchestown there will be a lot of fun to be had with her in the spring. It's the first horse that I can remember that the Flynn's have had with us, and it's nice to wear these colours.
