Obliterator scores on his debut
He is a nice horse and he is obviously well-related. I was hoping he'd finish in the first three or four and we then would put him away for next year. Even though he has won his maiden we will still probably put him away. He wouldn't want mucky winter ground and he wants every yard of that mile. We will see what the boys want to do.
Russian comes out on top in thrilling finish
Shane said he stuck his neck out and he really grinded it out. Having the rail was definitely a help and he really deserved it. As sprinters go he is a model of consistency and he gives his best every day. Leonardo at home has done a wonderful job with him. He rides him all the time and he has really made a horse of him. We will give him a break now to freshen him up and he'll go back to Dubai.
Good win for McCourt and Keane
I told Colin to make as much use of him as he could. He is best when he doesn't have something in front of him as he tends to lug in behind horses and it is a job getting him out. He is tough and he is going the right way. The plan is to come back here for the Joe McGrath Handicap in a few weeks time.
Belle takes the Blandford for Murtagh
She probably just blew up a bit last week and I really fancied her today. Niall (McCullagh) rode her yesterday morning and he said she was in great form. She's got great heart and a great pedigree. She has done nothing but improve from day one and her sister stayed a mile and six. I'm not sure if she will run again this year but she is so tough and comes out of her races so well you'd never know.
Summers gets off the mark on twentieth start
He was unlucky at Galway (on Monday) when he got badly hampered but he was always going to win today.
Another Derby for Placere and Carberry
We haven't had the ground for her all year and there was just enough juice in it today.
Double for Halford & Foley as Regulation wins
We've come out on the right side of two very close finishes today but you couldn't deny him that win. He was second in the Cambridgeshire and he ran some great races without winning. He likes having a bit of space and he did well to hold on as Shane had to commit a bit sooner than he wanted. If he went high enough in the ratings we might consider going to Dubai with him.
