First win for O'Callaghan as Sakura gets off the mark
I'm still down after the first. You'd think I'd get used to getting my arse kicked by Aidan!. This filly is lovely. She's not the best mover in the world so we were always dubious whether she would handle this ground. I took the view that she'd handle it rather than going on what looks obvious for her because of her action. She ran well the other day and handled that so that answered that question. I made this entry with no real view to running her because she was giving weight away all around. But I thought with the way she had come out of her race we'd run and if she doesn't handle it she doesn't handle it. I thought it was a lovely brave performance and she can only improve as she's very much on the leg. It's a great first winner for Rolline (O'Callaghan of Yeomanstown Stud). It's very important to break the maiden with these fillies and that's it done. As I said I'm still down after the first race but I'd want to start getting used to it. That first filly is weak and I'm just annoyed with myself as I thought her talent would do it. She's like Blue Uluru and won't be a horse until next year.
Daughter delivers again at Navan
Hussey & O'Brien complete 29/1 double with Fire
Ming makes it 3 from 4 in the feature at Navan
Leonard doubles up on Nimitz
That's his third win for the year and he handles that ground well,. We're toying with stepping him up in trip and we might do that. He likes a good galloping track. He's in a couple of times next week and we'll see about that, see how much he goes up. We tried a mile-and-a-half once in Dundalk but I don't think he was quite right that day so we can discard that and we might give him another go. He's a very straight-forward consistent horse.
Bombay records first turf win at ten
He's a legend of a horse for me. I have him a good few years now and you grow attached the them,. On his last four runs he's been unlucky and has been flying home. I'm delighted to get another win into him. He doesn't look like a ten-year-old, he's full of life still. We'll just pick another race, he loves the quick ground. He gets to a level and then he can't win off it, so we might get another win out of him and that will probably be it again then. He dropped his reins - Shane is good friends with me and is very good to me. He helps a lot with riding work and stuff. I'm just delighted to get another win.
