Expensive-filly Zagitova sheds maiden tag in good style
It was a nice experience for her going around a right-hand bend. She had a nice run the first day and showed the benefit of it.
Duckett's Grove impresses Mullins in Cork
He’s a lovely horse that I bought last year in Keeneland. All the two-year-olds I’ve had have been bought to be sold and he went to the Breeze-Ups. I’ve always thought a huge amount of him, whether everyone else that saw him at the Breeze-Ups did or not it didn’t look like it so I had to bring him home. Gary has sat on him a few times and he liked him. Everything he showed me at home he’s different class to any two-year-old I’ve ever had anything to do with. It’s great that he got it done today. He’s entered in a Group Two at Leopardstown (on Irish Champions Weekend) and if I still have him we’ll aim for that I’d imagine. He’s a gorgeous, big, galloping horse and all Gary said there was he’s going to make an awesome three-year-old.
Weld's filly Making Light of the opposition
That was a nice performance by her. She’s won two Group races and has had a summer break. She’s very fresh and well and she did it very impressively. She’s in the Matron (at Leopardstown) and I think that will be her next start. I wanted to run her today as it gives me a nice time as a prep for the Matron.

Stormy Belle repeats fillies handicap win at Cork
The race worked out well but it wasn’t as soft as it was last year so she found it harder. We ran her in Galway and she flattened out. The second day she ran there we put a tongue tie on her and she got trapped and only for that she would have been a good second. So we came here with the same tactics, tongue tie and drop her in, and we got the result. She was a good two-year-old and won her maiden by six lengths but when she came back she was never as good. You would think it wouldn’t have taken me this long to cop on!. She’s in foal to Elzaam so whatever time we’re allowed she will run up to then. She’s not long in foal.
It's Thiswaycadeaux for McCreery and Crosse
The rain came for her and that’s all she needed was a bit of ease in the ground. Nathan gave her a lovely ride as they went too fast. She’s a good ride for an apprentice. She’s a hardy tough filly and the missus (owner) will be happy!
Carroll boots home Cork double on Lady Sonia
She’s only 15 hands but she has great heart and wants to try the whole time. The bit of rain helped. She was second on good to firm ground at Fairyhouse but she wants an ease. She was drawn 18 so we thought it would be hard from there but she jumped well. She will go to Listowel and probably somewhere before that. The lads have a stag party lined up at Listowel so she’ll go there anyway.
