O'Shea/McDermott take opener at Galway

We were hoping first time blinkers would sharpen her up and the soft ground was a help. In fact I thought maybe she got to the front a little bit too soon. We've not got to the bottom of her stamina wise yet. We may come back here on Saturday for a two mile flat handicap.

No One Tells Me scores for Harrington

The ground was a big worry but I couldn't believe how well she was travelling. She won at Punchestown and to come back and win at Galway is great. I forgot to declare cheekpieces but she has been so sweet at home it didn't really matter. We may see her out again during the week as she's in such right old form.

Stunning View for Weld at Galway

He did it as we expected and thought he would do it. He's a very nice colt and we've a lot to look forward too and we won't be rushing him. It was very good maiden he ran in at the Curragh first time. We have him entered in the Goffs Million and the National Stakes.

Weld/McNamara take another big one at Galway

The big danger beforehand was carrying 12 stone, it's a lot of weight for a four year old. The ground was definitely a bit slower than he would have liked. The plan was to weight with him until inside the final furlong but the pace was very slow so Robbie decided to go on earlier.

Mullins wins aboard Tellelle

Danny gave the horse a lovely ride and he did exactly what he was told. He won over 6f and he has plenty of pace, so I told Danny not to be in any hurry. The track really suited her and she came up the hill very well. We took her to the beach at Laytown and she worked really well over 3 ½ furlongs,.

Mosstown gives Harrington a double

The B.B Horse Racing Club that own this horse are the first syndicate I ever had. They have been so lucky and they have had plenty of horses with me and only one horse has never won for them. He was bought to go hurdling and it's a help that he likes that ground. It's great to get a double on day one of the festival.

Cawley records first winner
