Ryan excels on Black Cat Bobby
He got his ground, which was a big help, but we were very worried about the draw. Gavin was very good on him. I fancied him coming and thought he'd have won the last day in Ballinrobe when he slipped turning in and Oisin (Orr) minded him. He loved the hill and hung on and I'm over the moon with the horse. We thought plenty of him as a two-year-old but he grew and was backward so we minded him along. It was always in my mind that Gavin is so good around here and he did his job very well. He'll have an entry for the weekend and we’ll see how he is.
Maud Gonne Spirit treads softly to success
Third win of year for Merroir under Browne McMonagle
It was a very tough performance and the rain came in time (going was changed to yielding to soft after the race). Dylan said he was in a lovely position the whole way around. She is not very big and had a lot of weight on her back but by God she can dig. She'll go on better ground but has a high knee-action to her and loves that softer ground. The owners are breeders and will breed from her in the end but it would be great if she could get black-type somewhere. You'd have to give her a go and see, especially on softer ground as she'd tough it out more than those fillies that wouldn't go on the ground.

Course specialist Zero Ten enhances Galway strike rate
He is a special horse to be able to come back to Galway and win a bumper, maiden hurdle, beginners' chase and now a flat maiden. We've had a lot of issues and it has been an uphill battle to get him here this year and if we had a cleaner run, we'd have gone straight for the Hurdle (on Thursday). It was a bit of a worry where we were with him but the engine is there. We'll see how he is in the morning and we won't be running him for the sake of it. If we can mind him, he'll reward us.
