Going - Heavy (Soft In Places). Overcast and blustery
Carsonstown is the Boy
Carsonstown Boy hasn't won for two years. He was second in a Grade 2 at Aintree two years ago. He lost his way a little bit. Ground doesn't matter to him. I might look at the Foxhunters at Cheltenham for him as this was a very good hunters chase he has won. He'll not have many runs before then. If he doesn't go for the Foxhunters he could go for a big handicap chase. It's good to win for his first-time owner Mr Monaghan.
Gran Torino ups the gears
A festive Hidden Present
I was worried about the sticky ground today but he did it well.
Lord Redsgirth much too good
He's a big lean horse and he doesn't carry a lot of condition. On his runs last season he was entitled to win that. I'll look for a novice hurdle somewhere for him.
Rocky Wednesday likes his Monday's
Hat-trick for Bay Of Kotor
He could go for the Pierce Hurdle. There's also a two mile hurdle race at Naas in the next two to three weeks. He loves the mud.
He's a real horse. He has met a few good ones but he has guts to burn. He doesn't settle as well as you would like. I was pleased with the ride. Mount Colah gets two miles well. He'll have a wee break and then go back hurdling. His owner Thomas Walsh is from Bryansford, Co Down and this is his first ever horse in training.
