Earp takes opener for Meade/Carberry
I was very disappointed with his last couple of runs on the Flat but maybe its the hurdles that make a difference to him. He jumps so well. He's got a couple of entries here later in the week, on the Flat and also the 2m5f handicap hurdle on Saturday. We'll see how he comes out of this.
Lough looks a promising type
To be honest he's surprised me as I didn't expect him to jump so well. The plan was to give him a good look at his hurdles as he's so inexperienced. He's a promising horse, and hopefully there is more to come. He's really a chaser.
Poet doesn't fluff his lines
That could well turn out to be the race of the week. It was a very good two-year-old race, and they are two smart horses. He had a hold up after his first run at the Curragh with sore shins, and I had to tighten him a bit more than I wanted to get here. You often need a Group horse to win here, and I think he is a Group horse. He's in the National Stakes.
Cross lands opening night feature
He will definitely go for the .Hurdle. on Thursday. He never leaves a nut after a race, so hopefully he will be okay after this. He's a great old horse to train, although winter ground is not his ground. He's been buzzing all week, and Colin said he was buzzing all the way down to the start. He was well due a big pot.
Noreen is on target
Its lovely to have a winner for the owner. Eimear (Mulhern) is on holiday down in Kerry and, as the sun was shining down there, she decided not to stay.
Punters in love with Peace
Kiely doubles up with Saint
He lived up to what we always thought of him. He ran too free the first day at Punchestown, and was beaten by a good horse (Clondaw Warrior) last time at Cork. He'll go for a winners bumper.
