Tiffilia makes experience count
She's a three-year-old type. She's already starting to improve. She's a little on the weak side but she's getting stronger. She could be a good filly by this time next year. She'll probably run again this year but we aren't sure where yet.
French Emperor rules the roost
He appreciated the drop in class. Colm said he was very professional. He's in again in a listed race on Friday [Tipperary] and he may go there.
Rigid Rock provides masssive upset
He had a nice draw today. He had a terrible draw the last three days. He was quick out of the gates. I'm delighted for the owners Bill and Penny Foley as they are my biggest patrons. I have only had one winner for them this season so far, so it's good to get another. Things are starting to click into place for me now.
McGuinness off the cold list
First Beauty gets admiring glances
She was hampered early on in Galway last Monday and lost all chance but stayed on and was only ten lengths or so behind. She got her own way today. That was her third run for us. There should be a bit more improvement in her. She'll run in a handicap hurdle next or go beginners chasing. Colin is in Cork but he is absolutely delighted with her.
Star Links up well with Phillips
That's karma for you. Dermot Weld took my jockey so I rang Ger Lyons who said he had every confidence in Gary Phillips and he gave him a peach of a ride.
Betrothed delivers on her promise
The blinkers made a difference on her today. She disappointed a couple of times but the blinkers seemed to sharpen her up. She quickened up nicely. She will probably go for a little handicap next. She is in again on Thursday but it could be a bit quick to run her there.
'Fish man' takes Springfield Way
He has won two point to points and was unlucky in a race won by Mossey Joe as he fell when leading. The syndicate are also from Pilltown, Co Kilkenny and my wife Joan heads it up.
