Big Challenge paying his way for McAuley
He is a grand horse but he had a leg problem before. It's like a game of roulette, black or red. Would you put €7,000 (claiming price in Sligo) on him? It's €12,000 today, the stakes are up. I claim regularly but I wouldn't give €12,000 for a horse that had a leg problem like him. If he is taken, he will be a grand fun horse if he is alright in the morning. If no one takes him and he comes home with us, we will look for another claimer and tip away in that. He is a grand horse for this type of grade.

He improved a good bit from Fairyhouse where he blew up (in fifth). He was second in this race two years ago when it was last run. We kind of had it in the back of our heads to come back and have a go at it because it is a good pot. I'm delighted it came off. He is a solid horse who turns up every year and wins one or two for us and I'm delighted to have him. I doubt he will go to Galway. We ran him there twice and he didn't seem to like it. The hustle and bustle there gets him wound up so I'd say we will sidestep that one anyway.
Browne McMonagle at double in Ballinrobe
We were more hopeful than confident. A big mare like her around a tight track was a worry. They've done a brilliant job with the ground. It was ideal, good, safe, quick ground.
