Military Hill triumphs in Ballinrobe claimer
it's great for Mr Gallagher, he's a great patron of mine and he keeps a lot of horses with me and it's great for him to have another winner here. He was struggling to win handicaps and this is why we've gone to this type of company. He seems to like it and he did that easier tonight — he made hard work of it last time. That's the type of horse he is though - he can run in two different ways but hopefully I can keep him because he'll hold his own in those type of races.
McGuinness wins opening two races at Ballinrobe
she came from William Haggas' and we got her a month before Galway and she ran a cracker there. She's a really nice filly and she's very well bred (a half-sister to Finsceal Beo) and to win a maiden with her makes her very valuable to Paul (Cashman, owner). It's his first horse ever with me and hopefully we'll get some black-type with her at some stage. We had her in Cork on Saturday but we decided to come here when we saw the maiden. We had a great draw and we had to make use of it.
Still Standing bags another win for Centauri connections
I got a little bit impeded jumping out but he hasn't run for a long time and he's entitled to be a little bit rusty. I just rode a race then and we went a nice even pace and we kept picking up every furlong. He got very unbalanced with me turning in — it's a track that takes a little bit of experience and I thought that if I hit him, as we raced down to the furlong marker, I'd unbalance him even more. I'd have taken a beating for him to gain more long term but in fairness he did it well and he's one that Jessie has always liked. It's nice to see him go and win after a long time off.
