Davis Flawlessly gets Lavery filly up in time
She's been very unlucky and when I saw the draw I thought I was going to be done by that again,. There was quite a bit of scrimmaging and I thought she was going to be trapped for room. She's just got better and better and I'm delighted with her. She well deserved that and hopefully there is more of the same. We'll just keep trying to go up in the handicap with her. Sean brought her back into the handicap so hopefully the handicapper isn't too hard on her. It kind of snookers me if he is because then there isn't anything for her for ages. I took a chance running her tonight in case she didn't get in next week. She just keeps running as she loves the fast surface and we'd just love to go up the grades with her in time. She has very patient owners. They bought her for the paddocks and they were going to send her this spring but luckily for me they're not. I have her for another year.
Rosebud comes good again at start of year
Obviously she likes this time of the year. We felt she was a bit unlucky a lot of times. She's a bit hard on herself and can be a bit free,.
Ship "a nice filly going forward for the summer"
Halford "delighted" to give Coakley a winner
I thought Ross gave him a very good ride from a wide draw,. The plan was to go forward but they were going hard and he just took him back and settled him in. He got a nice clear run. Seven is a good trip for him. Whether they went too hard in front, I don't know, but he came home well. I'm delighted to give Ross a winner. He's in riding out for us for the past few months and he's heading off to Australia tomorrow for a month. That'll give him a bit of a boost. He rides well. He used his head well on him and the 3lb was a help. I'm delighted to get the first of the year out of the way. He'll keep him going up here as he loves the surface and seven is probably his ideal trip.
Wooster travels "like a demon" and scores
He's improving every week. Chris said that there is a nice handicap in him somewhere along the line,. He said he wouldn't be afraid to even go back on the grass as he travelled like a demon, got there and won nicely. I thought the handicapper was sore on him when he gave me 8lb but maybe he knew more than me!. I'm a man that likes hurdling but after that he might have to stick to the Flat for a while. It's hard to pass up on prize-money. I was very impressed with him tonight. He's been a very good buy, touch wood, and he's paid for himself anyway.
16/1 Dundalk double for Joseph O'Brien
2 for Hayes at Dundalk at 47/1
He's been great. He won here not so long ago but he has been a little bit frustrating on nights as well where he hasn't helped himself early,. Today, for some reason, he jumped brilliant and settled in a perfect spot. When he did that you think 'tonight's his night.'. He's great for the lads that own him. He's been a great horse for them. There might be something back here in three weeks time for him. He was very tough. Chris said he might have delayed his challenge a little longer in different circumstances but I'd have preferred to see him getting run out of it rather than not getting there. He's doing his job, that's the most important thing with him, and hopefully there will be more nights.
