Odds-on Ally takes Thurles opener
He is a fair horse. If he had won the last day he would be going for the Royal Bond (on Sunday). He will go for a Grade 1 hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas now. Davy was delighted with the way he jumped the last. He jumped ordinary earlier on. He did what we expected him to do today.
Annie makes it four from four on hurdles debut
I was delighted with her jumping considering how little jumping she had done. She has a nice engine and she should have no problem going further.
Eden looks to have a Touch of class
He is a big galloper and will go down the staying novice hurdle route but he looks a chaser in the making. We had him last year but he had a set back with his back and rather than rush him we put him away as he had shown us plenty.
Treble for Mullins as Bishopsfurze scores
That was a fortuitous win for David Casey. I had Paul Townend jocked up to ride Bishopsfurze but there was a mix up at declaration time and I only saw it when I came here yesterday. Paul had the option to swap if he wanted but he decided to stick with Sweet My Lord as he had worked well recently. He looked thrown in here getting ten pounds on a track that he loves as well. He is a stronger horse this year and the way he jumped today would encourage me to go back chasing with him.
Lady scores on first start for Byrne
Davy gave her a superb ride. He said he would go on the outside for the better ground and I'm delighted for her owners. She likes the soft ground and she is something to look forward to over the winter. Down the line we will maybe look for blacktype, but we will take it one race at a time. We trained her to win but we weren't sure whether she needed the run. She will go for another handicap now at Christmas time. That is my fourth winner in total. I have had one on the flat and three under national hunt rules.
Rating is the Queen of Thurles
She came back to us last year after she lost her way a bit but she has turned the corner again now. She has been consistent this year and needed the run in Roscommon and ran very well at Clonmel. She is a real Thurles specialist though and she will come here again if there is a race for her. Limerick at Christmas is a possibility. She has very low mileage and she can win again.
McParlan's land a gamble with Drumlee
He is a good horse and he showed a good turn of foot at home. We are open to offer for him now.
