O'Brien and Moore start Irish Derby weekend with a winner
You'd be delighted with him. He was green first time and he was still a bit green today. Wayne (Lordan) rode him the first day and he liked him. He finished sixth in a good maiden (at this track). He was more professional today, but Ryan said when he got there he was still very green. He's a good cruiser and he shows plenty of class through a race. He's a big, powerful horse, he's a big No Nay Never and they are big strong horses with loads of natural speed.

The rain was needed. I was going to declare him again for Sunday, but I walked it this morning and it was only just good. With the dry forecast for the weekend I thought it wouldn't be slow enough for him on Sunday but there was enough for today. I'm delighted, with 10st2lb you couldn't be over confident in that type of handicap. He loves it here, he's a different horse when he's here — close to home. We'll see what the handicapper does now. There are a few 60-90 handicaps that he's probably not going to get into now. We'll have to go premier handicaps now, but he's not going to go to the likes of Galway as it doesn't seem to suit him. We'll maybe go to Britain and find a handicap for him over there.

He's in good form, he seems to have improved and is at his best this year. In fairness to the handicapper, he did give me a chance after winning the last day. I went up in grade, but I think the key to him was the drop of rain we got all day here, he got his toe in. It's good to get a winner on the big stage. My owners Helena and Matty O'Toole have been very patient since the day they bought him. If I could have a couple of owners like them that's all anybody would want.

Declan gave him a great ride. He had some good form in maidens and he obviously enjoyed the step up in trip today,. It's a good pot to land, there is some great prize-money here this weekend and it's nice to win a good race on the Friday. We're looking forward to the weekend. We might go to Galway with him for the mile race there. He's a nice horse. The owners are American so he could potentially go there at some stage.
