Rivals can't land a blow on Scrapper
You could see from the entries he's had that we think he's quick. No disrespect to the winner but the six furlongs beat him the last day. It's been frustrating all year with the ground, and we couldn't run him when we wanted to run. The only negative is that there is no bonus for this race. The time (58.35) is quick and we'll put him away now for the year. We may geld him and let him grow up. The Reaper won this race a few years ago, and if he turns out to have as good a rating as him he'll do.
Rummaging maintains Halford strike rate
He only got there. It was a bit tight to get through but he was game and genuine, and on form entitled to win. The owner has been very patient and he's had a few problems. He loves that surface so we'll keep him going here.
Arbitrageur scores for Kinsella
I had been trying to make a miler out of him and even when he won at Gowran, he stayed out the seven furlongs well. However this is a very true track and the six furlongs suited him well. He has probably done enough now and you probably won't see him again now until next April.
Another flawless display from Paene Magnus
Connell gains first win for five years
Wild China ran well here a few times but he had to go down to that grade to win. To be honest if he didn't win tonight he was never going to win. I have six in training and they're all good ground horses so we'll have to make our way up here again!
Third surprise winner at Dundalk
that's a surprise to say the least!. Cristy's Call needs a sound surface which he didn't have earlier this year but he wasn't beaten too far in his two runs here before over 1m2f - on those runs he was entitled to be involved. I've no particular plans but we're only 20 minutes away from here so we'll be coming here again.
Down Royal and Dundalk wins for Elliott
Silverlord is a tricky enough horse and the owner (Stephanie Swift) who has been patient. He liked that better ground and would be suited by going up to a mile and a half. Hopefully he can win another handicap.
McDonogh completes Dundalk double
Declan gave her a great ride . I'm not sure if she'll run again or we'll give her a break until next spring. She's home bred and the dam is a three parts sister to Golan.
