Wave showed good speed all the way. She didn't quite get home over 7f here that last day and the drop back in trip suited today.

Gordon Lord Byron just can't handle soft ground. At Listowel the last day, he hated the ground, but he still wasn't beaten that far. He should make up into a nice sprinter next year and I'm delighted for his owners, the Cahalans, as they bought him as a foal but he then failed to sell as a yearling. They've had a lot of patience and it has paid off. There's a six furlong handicap in a few weeks time that we'll come back for.

Eastern Rules was raised 10lbs for his recent win but the handicapper told me that when he gives horses big penalties, that they usually win the next time they run!
