No luck needed as Sors routs field
he had two grand runs but then got very weak and had a bad dose of ringworm. He's in the Redcar Trophy (Sales race) next Saturday (October 4) but if that comes too soon he could go for the Birdcatcher. He's a decent horse and worked really well with An Saighdiur (103 rated stablemate) last week and beat him by six lengths. I wasn't going to run An Saighdiur in the Ayr Gold Cup because of that but he did run and ran well.
Rockfel victors return with Stylish win
Private Party spoils Dundalk gamble
He'd a few fair runs at Leopardstown and Gowran Park, and the five furlongs was a bit sharp last time. He's a good tough horse, and liked the surface and it's nice to ride a winner in those colours. I've had a bit of luck in them before.
Deserved win for Hill on the sand
Waver helps Donnacha O'Brien to third win
he's a lovely mover and does everything right. When I put my stick down he pricked his ears and I'd a few anxious moments just near the line. My weight has kept fairly stable this year, and claiming 7lb now rather than 10lb will make things a little easier.
Halarath takes Moore off the cold list
The owner (PJ O'Brien) saved her from the factory and bought her for €600. She doesn't go on hard ground but likes that surface, and Gary thinks she'll win again.
McCourt's Horsewithnoname gains third win
he hates being stuck in and needs to be out wide and have room to gallop. He needs things to go right for him and the last few times he fell out of the stalls but was better tonight. The owners are a local syndicate (No Name Syndicate) which includes my three daughters Fiona, Denise and Tracey.
Afonso wins easily, 'has more in the locker'
he (Afonso De Sousa) was not quite as ready as he was for this race last year, and that's why I rode him more patiently. He loves artificial surfaces, and is a classy horse and he's not shown on the track yet what I think he has in the locker.
