Cross makes course experience count in Wexford opener
She was very sharp there with the visor on, not that she needs it. She handles this place well after being second here first time. She was unfortunate to run into an in-form Ice Empress in Killarney. She was good there though.
Cloud on Fire at Wexford
Shark limbers up for Galway
She was unlucky in Killarney. She got into all sorts of trouble with Danny (Mullins). She was entitled to win a little race and she'll probably go to Galway now on the Thursday. She loved the ground and Kevin Manning got off her two runs back and told us never to run her on hard ground again. Unfortunately it's not looking like Truckers Delight will get into the Galway Plate. They told me that the cut-off point has never been as high. He is rated 130 and it's looking like he won't get in so I'm raging. The other horse, Luska Lad (Galway Hurdle hopeful) is in serious form. He did a great bit of work in Tipperary and I'm happier now with him than any time since I started training him. I'd be expecting yielding ground by the time Thursday comes around.
Soprano has favourite backers singing at Wexford
She did it well, she stays very well and is very genuine though it mightn't have looked it there. Maybe going that way around (right-handed) mightn't have completely suited her. She is still green though and still learning. We'll put her in a handicap now and see where she goes from there. If she has half the heart of her sister, Celtic Soprano, she'll go a long way. Jim Monaghan, the winning owner and breeder is from Tipperary. I'm delighted for him, he is a very sporting man.
Sales in the winning habit
That was some performance after getting left. He'll go for a novice now and he jumped brilliant today. He won't go to Galway. He goes on all ground though the chase track here isn't as slow as the flat course. He got a good ride off my son.
Hall promoted at Wood's expense
Battling Boru another for in-form Tony
He is a good horse but he is very excitable and still has a lot of improving to do. He was quite a late foal if I remember correctly and he is a horse with a future I think. He is from the family of Galmoy by a Sadler's Wells horse so he should stay well. He'll have a break now.
