The winner, Christmas In April (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Haydock Park on 24 March 2021 where the gelding finished last of the four finishers, beaten by 32½ lengths on Good to Soft ground.
Colin Tizzard‘s explanation that Christmas In April (FR) benefited from the better ground on this occasion, which was officially described as Good, was noted.
