The winner, Seymour Sox (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Ludlow on 24 February 2021, where the gelding finished sixth of eleven beaten 38 lengths.
Alistair Ralph explained that the gelding may have appreciated the step up in trip from 2 miles 5 furlongs to 3 miles ½ a furlong.
His explanation was noted and Seymour Sox (GB) was routine tested.
Going out on the final circuit, the winner, Seymour Sox (GB), hung right-handed off the bend hampering Muthabir (IRE), which was later pulled up.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Seymour Sox (GB).
Following the race, Brian Hughes reported that Silk Or Scarlet (IRE), placed fourth, hung and jumped right throughout.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Glen Vine (GB), which was pulled up, was lame left fore, and that Ballynanty (IRE), which was pulled up, was lame right fore.
