Permission was given for Astapor (GB), Grandad Bob (IRE) and Dr Rio (FR) to all go early to post; and for Lancashire Life (GB) and Murbih (IRE) to both wear a red hood to post.
Stella Barclay had obtained prior permission from the BHA to run Lancashire Life (GB) partially shod.
The Starter reported that Zoom Star (GB) was unruly, breaking out of the stalls, and was withdrawn at 2:15pm.
Bryan Smart was informed that the mare could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Zoom Star (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the mare would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
John Kirkup (GB), drawn 7, accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Leaving the stalls, Murbih (IRE), placed fifth, jumped left-handed, bumping Lancashire Life (GB), placed fourth, which in turn bumped the winner, Object (GB), which resulted in Lancashire Life (GB) becoming tight for room between the two runners, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Rhys Elliott reported that Grandad Bob (IRE), unplaced, missed the break.
