The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Ocean Monarch, ridden by S. Foley, placed second and Choice Of Mine (AUS), ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed first, where it appeared Choice Of Mine (USA) drifted into the path of Ocean Monarch (Ire). Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental and therefore took no further action
R.C. Colgan, rider of Stinglikeabee trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst and was eased thereafter
K.J. Manning, rider of China's Storm, trained by Anthony Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hesitated when the stalls opened and was slowly away as a result of this.
