Approaching the last hurdle, Clearly Capable (IRE), placed fourth, shifted right-handed, causing the winner, The Crooner (FR) to be briefly short of room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Hugh Nugent, the rider of the winner, The Crooner (FR) was suspended for 4 days for using his whip above the permitted level from leaving the second last hurdle; being a 5lb conditional rider, Nugent was accompanied in the enquiry by a BHA Jockey Coach.
Following the race, the representative of Oliver Greenall reported that Tim Rocco (GER), placed fifth, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Heavy on the hurdle course and would prefer a return to a quicker surface.
