An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving Onaraggatip (GB), placed second, ridden by Ellie Mackenzie and He's Our Star (IRE), placed third, ridden by Emma Taff.
As a 7lb claimer, Taff was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Onaraggatip (GB)’s placing as prior to the interference Onaraggatip (GB) appeared to be making little but slow inroads on He's Our Star (IRE), when hanging quickly right giving a considerable bump to He's Our Star (IRE), who was approximately half a length clear at that moment, turning its hind quarters.
He then recieved a further bump, losing further ground and momentum which resulted in Onaraggatip (GB) becoming a neck ahead.
He remained this distance clear on the run to the line, winning by a neck.
The Stewards therefore revised the placings as follows: First, John Clare (IRE); Second, He's Our Star (IRE); Third; Onaraggatip (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental in that Onaraggatip (GB) was hanging right- handed throughout the race despite the best efforts of its rider to keep the gelding running straight.
Following the race, Ellie Mackenzie reported that Onaraggatip (GB), placed third, hung right-handed.
Michael Appleby reported that Finery (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Heavy going on this occasion and would prefer a quicker surface.
