An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference 1 furlong out and again in the final ½ furlong between the winner Pay The Piper (IRE), ridden by Danny McMenamin and Castle Rushen (IRE), placed second, ridden by Brian Hughes.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Pay The Piper (IRE) as Castle Rushen (IRE) was only moved slightly off its intended line and lost no ground or momentum, to be beaten a nose at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as initially approximately 1 furlong out, Pay The Piper (IRE) drifted left taking Castle Rushen (IRE) slightly off its intended line, before Castle Rushen (IRE) edged slightly right both half a furlong out and again approaching the winning line, taking Pay The Piper (IRE) marginally off its intended line.
The Stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
