The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Perfect Sight (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Ed Dunlop’s representative was interviewed.
Their comments that Perfect Sight (GB) had relished the Heavy going on this occasion was noted and the gelding was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Good Call (IRE), placed third, ridden by Tom Kiely-Marshall, Freak Encounter (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Saffie Osborne, Keep Singing (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Joe Leavy, Pathetic Fallacy (GB), unplaced, ridden by Trevor Whelan, and Eye On The Prize (GB), unplaced, ridden by David Allan.
Kiely-Marshall was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge right-handed when insufficiently clear of Freak Encounter (IRE), causing Osborne to take a check when tightened for room and in turn make contact with Keep Singing (IRE), resulting in it bumping Pathetic Fallacy (GB), which in turn briefly hampered Eye On The Prize (GB) down the inner.
Inside 1½ furlongs out, Freak Encounter (IRE), placed fourth, shifted right-handed whilst racing greenly and bumped a weakening Hickton (IRE), placed fifth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Freak Encounter (IRE).
Following the race, Pierre-Louis Jamin reported that Mehmasself And I (IRE), unplaced, was very slowly away.
