Permission was given for Lilypad (IRE) to wear a hood in the parade ring only.
David Bass, the rider of Mergeela (IRE) was unseated on the flat between the third last and second last fence when Mergeela (IRE) jinked sharply to her left when tailed off.
Bass was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that no other horse or rider was involved.
After the last fence, the winner, QUEEN’S MAGIC (IRE), hung right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to correct the mare, carrying Cotton End (IRE), placed second and Unsuspected Girl (IRE), placed third, slightly off of their racing lines, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of the winner, QUEEN’s MAGIC (IRE).
Following the race, Tommy Phelan reported that Lope De Loop (IRE), which was pulled up, ran too freely.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Unsuspected Girl (IRE), placed third, lost both her hind shoes.
