Snooze N You Lose (FR), trained by K R Burke, ran without its right-hind shoe as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the filly should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post.
The winner, Frankella (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Salisbury on the 23 June 2021 where the filly finished seventh of twelve, beaten by 17½ lengths.
It was noted that Andrew Balding could offer no explanation for Frankella (GB)’s improved form on this occasion.
The filly was routine tested.
Following the race, Andrea Atzeni reported that Storm Dancer (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and Rossa Ryan reported that Lovely Mana (IRE), which started favourite and finished third, ran too free in the early stages of the race.
