Permission was given for Ballintoy Harbour (IRE) and Zapper Cass (FR) to go early to post and for Seneca Chief (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference inside the final furlong.
In the first incident, involving the winner, Saluti (IRE), ridden by Paul Mulrennan and Zapper Cass (FR), unplaced, ridden by Theodore Ladd, the interference was considered to be accidental as Saluti (IRE) had edged left leaving Zapper Cass (FR) short of room but was quickly corrected by Mulrennan.
The second incident involved Saluti (IRE); Rayong (GB), placed second, ridden by Sam James; Indian Sounds (IRE), placed third, ridden by Ben Robinson; Modular Magic (GB), unplaced, ridden by Connor Beasley; and Ben Macdui (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Oisin McSweeney.
The Stewards considered that the interference to Rayong (GB) and Indian Sounds (IRE) had not improved Saluti (IRE)’s placing as the winning distance was ½ a length and both Rayong (GB) and Indian Sounds (IRE) appeared to be held on the run to the line.
Mulrennan was suspended for 5 days for careless riding as he had failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount from continuing to drift left causing interference to the runners on his inside.
