one horse (Schubert) collided with the rail but I don't know if he would have won or not. Billy (Lee) said she came home strongly and he was happy with her. I don't know what happened her the last day - I couldn't find an excuse. I did what I don't usually do and put a pair of blinkers on a filly - some clever trainers do it so I said I'd give it a try!. R.P. Whelan, rider of Saga The First, trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly. D. O'Brien, rider of Schubert (USA), trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ducked in the straight. J.A. Heffernan, rider of Nutini, trained by Madeleine Tylicki, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount suffered slight interference in the straight. The Stewards requested a report from Edward Lynam, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Midnight Crossing, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on her last start for no apparent reason. He added that she returned to form today wearing blinkers for the first time. Having considered the report the Stewards noted it's content.
