The Stewards interviewed J.F. Levins, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Touch Of Frost. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that the failure to nominate a rider was a mistake on his part and he apologised for the oversight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards found J.F. Levins in breach of Reg 3 and Rule 195 and having taken his record into account the Stewards imposed a fine of ?130. The Stewards interviewed D.W. O'Connor, rider of Touch Of Frost, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of his master, J.F. Levins, trainer. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found D.W. O'Connor in breach of Reg 10 3(b) by using his whip after its chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and having taken his record into account the Stewards suspended him for one race day.

An extended handicap for two yrs old only (85 = 9st 7lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 7lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 85 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 7lb. Subsequently, the excess over 85 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
