The Raceday Stewards received a request from John Patrick Ryan, trainer of Grange Walk, to substitute the nominated rider D.E. Mullins, with D.J. Gilligan (3lb claimer) who would have to carry 4lbs overweight, due to the declared rider having been stood down following a fall. The trainer stated that he was unable to find any other jockey to make the weight. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed the request on this occasion in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 3, it being an exceptional circumstance
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Barnacullia, trained by Michael Mulvany, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Barnacullia, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
