The winner, Balko Saint (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run in the UK at Cheltenham on 16 March 2021 where the gelding finished eleventh of 22, beaten by 14 ¼ lengths.
The representative of Jane Williams explained that Balko Saint (FR) had benefitted from a return to hurdles having raced over fences in France on 14 September 2021.
His explanation was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Jonathan Burke reported that Cobblers Dream (IRE), placed third, was never travelling.
