Shaun Lycett was cautioned as Siglo Six (GB) had arrived in the Parade Ring without its declared hood, which was then located and fitted to the gelding before going to the start.

Come On Linda (GB) made contact with the rails when exiting the Parade Ring to go onto the course.

Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the filly was deemed fit to race.

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Major J (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Daniel Muscutt and trained by Hilal Kobeissi, which was held up towards the rear of the field before making steady progress in the straight to finish 4th beaten 2 ¼ lengths.

Muscutt stated that he had limited instructions due to riding the gelding on several occasions previously but intended to jump and find a position where the gelding travelled comfortably into the race.

He added he was happy with his position in the early stages of the race and aimed to track WHIFF WAFF into the race as in Muscutt’s opinion this was likely to be his main rival.

Muscutt further added that he planned to try and kid Major J (GB) into the race as the gelding frequently finds little off the bridle when asked for a maximum effort.

He further stated he wished to pick his way through the field in the straight, coming between horses, and in his opinion had obtained the best possible placing.

His comments were noted.

Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that Siglo Six (GB), placed eighth, was slowly away and had lost both front shoes.

The Veterinary Officer reported that Harbour Storm (GB), placed sixth, was struck into its left-hind.
