Permission was given for Anna Of Saxony (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries.
The winner Black Smoke (IRE) appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Bath on 15 May 2024 where the gelding finished sixth of eleven, beaten 11 lengths.
The representative of Mark Loughnane explained that the gelding may have appreciated this being its first start following a break.
Black Smoke (IRE) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend turning into the home straight, when Sea Master (GB), placed fourth, ridden by John Egan, interfered with Ramaah (GB), placed third, ridden by Sean Dylan Bowen.
The interference was found to be accidental as Sea Master (GB) had moved marginally left handed when rounding the bend, at the same time as Ramaah (GB) had improved onto its heels, which resulted in Ramaah (GB) stumbling.
Following the race, Gina Mangan reported that Virtual Hug (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed under pressure.
Darragh Keenan reported that Alex The Great (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed.
Sean Dylan Bowen reported that Ramaah (GB), placed third, hung left-handed.
Jack Doughty reported that Kiss My Face (GB), placed fifth, was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding lost its left hind shoe.
