We hoped he was a nice horse and he had been working nicely. Obviously the favourite looked very nice as well. I'm delighted with our fella and he's an exciting horse. He had been working nice but he had to go against my bumper stats as well which is no mean feat!. I'm delighted for Robcour and the Achesons. It's great for Patrick to win the race (named in honour of Dr Brendan Doyle) and I'm honoured to win it. He's entitled to go for a winners bumper. I don't know where or when, today was Plan A. You have Aintree and Punchestown and we'll discuss it with the owners and see what they want to do. I was concerned about the ground being a bit too soft. An I.N.H. flat race for four, five, six and seven years old only that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing and which at entry have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a Point to Point Steeplechase in Ireland since 6th October, 2018
Weights - 4-y-o 11st 2lbs; 5, 6 and 7-y-o 12st Mares allowed 7lbs;
Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. All horses running in this race must hold a current Hunters Certificate. A Hunter Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2019/2020 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Office of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 2nd March or the horse will not be qualified to start. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season. HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply. (i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-to-Point steeplechase since 6th October, 2018 (ii) In the event of Paragraph (i) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining horses.
