Permission was given for Dubai Elegance (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
Midnite Bride (GB), trained by Kevin Ryan, ran without its left fore shoe as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the filly should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post.
Leaving the stalls, Kennocha (IRE), placed eighth, jumped awkwardly and shifted right bumping Bernie's Boy (GB), placed fifth, before then shifting left and hampering Q Twenty Boy (IRE), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 5 furlongs out involving Quaint (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Charlie Bennett; BERNIE’S BOY, placed fifth, ridden by Grace McEntee and Onebaba (IRE), placed third, ridden by Danny Redmond.
Bennett was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left towards the rail when insufficiently clear, tightening BERNIE’S BOY onto Onebaba (IRE), which was briefly checked.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Perfect Symphony (IRE), unplaced, lost its left hind shoe.
