Permission was given for Snazz Man (GB) to go early to post and Incertaine (GB) wore earplugs throughout the race.
The winner Our Rockstar (IRE) appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Ludlow on 28 February 2019 where the mare finished tenth of the fourteen runners, beaten by 40 ¾ lengths.
Alistair Ralph’s explanation that the mare benefited from the step up in trip from 2 miles to 2 miles and 6 furlongs was noted.
Our Rockstar (IRE) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding how Snazz Man (GB), which was pulled up, was transported back to the stable yard.
The Stewards interviewed the trainer Susan Gardner, the Veterinary Surgeon and the Veterinary Officer.
Having heard their evidence, the Stewards found Mrs Gardner in breach of Rule (A)32.
1 as she had acted contrary to the instruction of the Veterinary Surgeon attending her horse, in that she walked the horse back to the stables instead of transporting the horse in a trailer as instructed.
The Stewards were satisfied that in this case, the welfare of the horse was not compromised and Mrs Gardner was cautioned as to her future conduct as the Veterinary Surgeons instructions must be followed wherever possible.
