Upon leaving the stalls Going To The Moon (IRE), unplaced, jumped sharply right-handed hampering Wamalama (IRE), unplaced, causing that gelding to give a heavy bump to Sir Jock Bennett (IRE), placed third, which in turn caused the hind quarters of Onslow Gardens (IRE), unplaced, to be turned.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 1½ furlongs out involving Arkendale (GB), placed second, ridden by Daniel Tudhope and Sir Jock Bennett (IRE), placed third, ridden by Franny Norton.
Norton was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right-handed to the stands rail without being fully clear of Arkendale (GB), causing Tudhope to take a slight check.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving Going To The Moon (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Harry Davies and New Tycoon (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by P.
J.
McDonald.
Davies was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed to the rail without being fully clear of a free running New Tycoon (IRE), resulting in McDonald having to steady to avoid his heels.
Following the race, Harry Davies reported that Going To The Moon (IRE), unplaced, jumped sharply right-handed leaving the stalls.
