Permission was given for Karibana (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
Inside the final furlong, Dancinginthewoods (GB), placed second, shifted quickly left causing Shane Kelly, the rider of Karibana (IRE), placed fourth, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Dancinginthewoods (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, Broughtons Gold (GB), ridden by Hayley Turner, interfered with Dancinginthewoods (GB), placed second, ridden by Joey Haynes.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Broughtons Gold (GB)’s placing as Haynes lost little to no momentum as a result of the interference and Turner, having come from behind, was going away from Haynes with a head between them at the line.
Turner was cautioned for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction carrying Haynes off his intended line.
Following the race, Marco Ghiani reported that Dashing Roger (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run.
