He's not the most predictable of horses, so he was on a going day today and it was great. L.P. Dempsey, rider of Konitho (FR) trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Konitho (FR), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race

The Stewards requested a report from Padraig Roche, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Paris Texas (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Wexford on the 16th May where he pulled up on soft ground. Padraig Roche reported that he was at a loss to explain the recent run at Wexford but noted that his charge won here at Downpatrick on his only previous run at this venue. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report

An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lbs)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
Riders - Confined to Professional & Claiming Professional Riders who have not ridden more than 15 winners under any N.H. Rules from 3rd May, 2020 to 3rd June, 2021 inclusive. (Qualified Riders are excluded from riding in this race)
